SDB 1999-2000 Season's News:

In the Wednesday Night Summer Mixed League Kevin Martz converted the 7 - 10 split. This
was Kevin's 1st league game in about 12 years.To the best of anyones recolaction this is only the
3rd 7 -10 split ever converted at SDB. (08/10/00)
Steve Pyatt bowled shot a 298 Friday Night (05/05/00)in the Dutchess Dodge Masters League.
Steve has never bowled a 300.He left a 4-9 on the 12th ball. I'm sure the 300 isn't far away.
George Reale bowled his 1st 300 Game Thursday (04/20/00) night in the Beacon Classic
League.It was the 8th 300 shot this year at SDB.Great Bowling George!

In the Beacon Classic Lg. on Thursday April 13,2000 history was made. Jon Leskow bowled
games of 300 - 280 - 278 for a 858 series. To say Jon has been on a hot streak is an
understatement.Last Friday he bowled 811 (295-278-238).In the 858 series Jon left only 4
pins standing.
nena rusa braga He left a 4-7 in the 2nd frame of the 2nd game, a 10 pin in the 5th frame of the 3rd game
and a 10 pin on the last shot of the night, the fill ball in the 10th frame of the last game.
For those of you who are counting thats 33 strikes and only 3 shots that weren't strikes.
Jon bowled all 3 games with a 15lbs.Ebonite Matrix Trimax I. The previous SDB house
record was 822 ( also bowled by Jon ).For those of you who don't know what it like to
shoot a 800 it is a great athletic feat. Over 3 games and 2 hours you can't make any mistakes
and you must anticipate lane condition changes. In other words you need to move on the lane
before you miss. In bowling slang you have to be razor sharp. You have to watch your bowl roll
down the lane, watch it react and know if the reaction was caused by you or the lane. For most
people watching someone bowl this is the stuff no one sees. When a Golfer hits a drive 300
yards or a baseball players hits one out of the park you can see it happen, but when a bowler
makes a 1 board move or throws a shot a little harder or softer only the bowler knows.
In Jon's series the 1st 10 pin he left in the 5th frame of the 3rd game was off a move he
made left on the lane (25) the ball hit a little weak. The next time he was on lane 25 Jon
didn't move he just made a little slower shot and the result was a strike.I hope I have given
you a better understanding of what it takes to bowl this well but it's a very hard thing to
describe. There are very few achievements in sports where an athlete performes this flawlessly.
Yes you read it correctly bowlers ARE ATHLETES.What Jon did Thursday Night April 13th,
2000 was a remarkable.
Friday Night (04/07/00) in the Masters League Jon Leskow bowled 295-278-238 for a 811 series.
His Team Bowled the League High scratch series of 2163.(Joe DeThomasis 737 Barry Winter 615).
Friday Night (04/04/00) Lori Palmatier shot her first 700 series (707),Great Bowling Lori.
On Saturday (03/25/00) John PackMan hit the Casino Spare Jackpot for $500. John Split the
jackpot with Casino regular Wayne Farber. They made a deal with each other that if either of
them won the would split the cash.John bowls in the Friday Night Specialist League and Wayne
bowls in the Sunday Night Mixed.
On Saturday (03/18/00) Roger Cherico hit the Casino Spare Jackpot for $600.
On Saturday (03/04/00) Mike Conklin hit the Casino Spare Jackpot for $900. Mike bowls at
SDB in the Sunday Nite mixed League.

Thursday (02/10/00) Theresa McFaull bowled a 300 on lanes 9-10 in the Thursday Nite Foursome League.
This was the 3rd perfect games ever bowled by a woman at SDB. It was also the 1st 300 game at SDB since we
started using the new lane machine 4 weeks ago.Theresa bowled 202,300 and 186 for a 688 series.As of late
Theresa has been bowling very well last week see shot a 269. By the way her team lost the game that Theresa
bowled 300 by 90 pins. I guess if she could have only bowled a little better(391)her team could have won.
Friday Nite in the Friday Nite Specialist League Donna Vantine bowled her 1st 200 game she bowled 221.(01-28-00)
On Saturday (01-29-00) Chris Brown hit the Casion Bowl Spare Jackpot. He made the (1-2-4-8) for $1100. There was a
rumor that he was going to split it with his dad but it is seems that Chris forgot that he told his dad they would
split it after he won. Advice to dad .. get all promises from Chris in writing (Only Kidding).
The Phoenix has arrived. The Phoenix is a lane conditioning machine that will clean and oil a lane at the same
time. Tuesday (01/04/00) will be the 1st day the machine will go into use for league play. We have been testing it
out over that past few weeks and we are now ready. The machine should help us keep a more consistant shot and if
you can believe this get higher scores. Our ABC representive has been kind enough to check the oil pattren to make
sure we are in compliance with the ABC rules.The good new is that we are.
Its been some week for scoring at SDB.In the Beacon Classic League on Thursday night Kevin Raymond shot his 19th
career 300 game.Of course he did it against me (Barry).In the same game that Kevin bowled 300, Tony Palumbo also
had a chance to bowl 300.Tony is the lead off bowler and had the 1st 10.He failed to get the 11th strike and he shot
289. That didn't stop Kevin. He calmly went about his business and made 3 solid shots in the 10th.

In the Lobo Classic League on 12/14/99 Chris Stokas Bowled 268 300 248 for a 816 series. Chris need to strike out in the
10th frame of the last game to break the house record which is held by Jon Leskow (822). Chris got the 1st strike in the
10th and then made a pretty good shot and left a wobbly 10 pin. !!! GREAT BOWLING CHRIS !!!
In the Beacon Classic League on 12/02/99 in the 1st game Joe Randazzo bowled his 1st 300 game.
On Saturday Night (11/13/99) Chris Brown hit the Casino Spare Jackpot for $500.
In the Friday Night Specialist League (11/05/99) Maria Biro bowled a 268.This is the highest game for a woman this year.
Friday 10/22/99 Jon Leskow shot 300 - 279 - 204 for a 783 series. This is the 1st 300 of the winter season and the highest
series this year. Way to go Jon.
Saturday during casino Alan Goscicki hit the spare jackpot for $850. He drew a easy spare(1-2-4-8) and made it.(10/16/99)
In the Friday Night Specialist League (10/15/99) Greg Carter bowled a 298.
In the Beacon Classic League on Thurday 10/14/99 Larry Lovejoy bowled the highest series in the center this year.
He bowled 775.
Kevin Raymond Bowled a 299 game in the Beacon Classic League Thursday Sept. 23, 1999.
Barry Winter won the strike jackpot in the Friday Masters League on Friday Sept.17th.
He got 9 Strikes in the correct frames to win.
On Saturday Sept. 18th Mike Gunn converted the big 4 (4-6 7-10) split to win $25. See it can be done.

Bill Scholl bowled a 300 game in the Summer Masters on Thursday August 5 1999.
